Channel Islands Harbor: Facebook Year in Review

Taking a trip down memory lane is always fun, especially when it’s at the Channel Islands Harbor. Based on your engagement (likes/comments/shares/clicks), we’ve compiled the top 10 Facebook posts from 2018 for you to enjoy and reflect. We did not include our top videos or links to blog articles we’ve shared. We will save that for another day!

Without further ado, check them out!

10. Sailing In

We are one of the largest recreational Harbors in California. That means there’s plenty of boats coming in and out of the Harbor. If you can’t sail, there is nothing like watching them come in when the sun is setting!

Slow ride, take it easy. 😍⛵️🙌 #channelislandsharbor #visitoxnard #vcclife 📸 @esmeralda_paz

8. 4th of July at the Channel Islands Harbor

We are home to Ventura County’s only seaside fireworks show. Thousands of people come down to the Harbor to enjoy recreational activities and celebrate America!

7. Honoring Sgt. Ron Helus

It was a devastating day for the community when Ventura County Sheriff’s Department Sgt. Ron Helus lost his life during a response to a mass shooting in Thousand Oaks. The Harbor lowered its flags to half-staff to honor Helus, his family, law enforcement, and the victims and families affected.

Today we fly our flags at half-staff in honor of Ventura County Sheriff’s Department Sgt. Ron Helus, who made the…

1. Support for our First Responders

We were all in shock in November. A mass shooting in Thousands Oaks was quickly followed by wildfires to the south of the Harbor, with smoke creating a doomsday-like backdrop. Fortunately our first responders did a great job and protected our communities!

This week has been difficult for Ventura County, but we’ve fought through tough times together and persevered. Let’s…
