Gypsies in a Trunk present Fairy Tales in the Park - May 4, 2008 to September 7, 2008

PRESENT FAIRY TALES IN THE PARK SHOW SERIES
MAY 4TH TO SEPTEMBER 7TH, 2008
PERFORMANCE TIMES: 2:00 P.M.

FAIRY TALES COME ALIVE AT CHANNEL ISLANDS HARBOR!

The perfor Gypsies in a Trunk, the all-volunteer troupe of actors perform Free fairy tales for the young and the young at heart. The troupe's love of children's theatre has led them to perform all over Ventura County since 1995. Gypsies in the Trunk will also perform a variety of other productions in Channel Islands Harbor Scheduled for May 4, June 8, July 6, August 3 and September 7th.

The performances are Free of charge to the public, however, donations are appreciated to help defray the cost of the production.

The performances will take place at 2 p.m. at the north end of Harbor View Park located adjacent to Marine Emporium Landing and Farmer’s Market. Ample space is available at Harbor View Park and visitors are encouraged to bring blankets, lawn chairs, and snacks as they watch the live performance.

Channel Islands Harbor's Summer Concert Series is set against a summer sky with the sparkling water as the backdrop. Visitors can enjoy a wide array of musical entertainment offered every Saturday! Musical selections will include Rock, R&B, Jazz, Latin, Pop and Country. Located next to the Casa Sirena Hotel and the Hampton Inn, this event and parking are FREE.

If art is your thing, then you’re in for a treat! Some of Southern California’s finest artists will participate in the 7th Annual Fine Arts & Crafts Show Series in Channel Islands Harbor beginning in July.

FINE ARTS & CRAFT SHOW WEEKEND SCHEDULE

Original works of art consisting of acrylics, etchings, photography, oils, watercolors and sculptures will be on display for viewing and purchase. Also, a number of high quality crafts will be available in the areas of ceramics, stained glass, woodcrafts, jewelry and gift items.

17th Annual Ventura Vintage Rods Harbor Run - September 14, 2008

The classics will be on display at Ventura Vintage Rods Harbor Run 18. Classic vehicles of Pre-1975 will be on display September 14th in Channel Islands Harbor. The public will have the opportunity to view over 250 classic cars during this FREE event.

43rd ANNUAL “PARADE OF LIGHTS”

Channel Islands Harbor
Saturday, December 13th, 12:00 NOON - 9:00 P.M.

PARADE STARTS AT 7:00 P.M.

This time-honored tradition kicks off the holidays with a full day and evening of family fun, thousands of sparkling lights dancing on the water and the magical moment when Santa flies across the sky marking the beginning of the parade.

ATTENTION BOAT PARADE ENTRANTS!
Come Join the Fun!
Let’s make this the most successful Parade of Lights the Harbor has ever seen!
Registering your boat not only makes you officially part of the parade, but automatically enters you into the competition for some great awards, the most coveted award being the perpetual “Sweepstakes Trophy”. All registered boats will be positioned between the Lead Boat and the Ending Boat and will receive 2 tickets to the Parade of Lights Awards Ceremony Brunch at Channel Islands Yacht Club the following morning, December 9th at 10:00 AM.

DAYTIME FESTIVITIES
Snowplay for the Children!
25 tons of snow will fall at Channel Islands Harbor at 10:00 A.M. until meltdown! Located of the north end of Harborview Park adjacent to Channel Islands Harbor Marina.
Horse-Drawn Carriage Rides
Horse-drawn carriages with sleigh bells will be available for rides form 12:00 – 5:00 PM. Pickup and drop off at the north end of Harborview Park next to the Snowplay Area.

AROUND THE HARBOR

Strolling carolers, Santa & Mrs. Claus, unique holiday shopping, waterside restaurants and much more!

12 - 7:00 P.M.
Holiday artist’s market, exhibitors, food booths, live music, children’s hands-on art, activities, games and rides, gigantic inflatable fun zone, face painting, water taxi rides and much more!

Santa Claus Flyover!
Santa and his reindeer will light across the sky, marking the beginning of the parade at 7:00 P.M. This time-honored tradition is presented courtesy of Aspen Helicopters.

Parade Viewing:
The parade may be viewed from parks and walkways that line the route as well as from most Harbor restaurants. For outdoor viewing we suggest that you dress warm and bring blankets and chairs. The Parade route begins in front of Peninsula Park and heads to the Main Channel, turns at Hobie Beach, loops in front of the launch ramp then heads back to Pacific Corinthian Yacht Club and repeats the route for second run.
