There’s only one seaside 4th of July fireworks show in Ventura County and it’s the Channel Islands Harbor’s Fireworks by the Sea.
The fireworks show begins at 9 p.m., but there’s plenty of planned festivities to enjoy all day.
18th Annual Channel Islands Harbor 4th of July 10k Race & 5K Fun Run/Walk
If you want to get some cardio in before indulging in beverages and BBQ, you can kick off your day at the 18th Annual Channel Islands Harbor 4th of July 10k Race & 5K Fun Run/Walk. This classic run takes place inside the Harbor and the Oxnard Shores beach community. Race day registration starts at 7 a.m. and the race begins at 8 a.m. Find out more here.
After the race, join Harbor residents and visitors for the 4th of July Children’s Parade. The parade begins at 10:30 a.m. at Albacore Way, travels north up Harbor Blvd. and ends at Cabezone Circle, home to Marine Emporium Landing.
All Day Activities
After the Children’s Parade, the fun at the Harbor really begins. Marine Emporium Landing, a key restaurant and retail hub, will host family-friendly activities from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Events at Marine Emporium Landing include a crafters’ market, an inflatable fun zone for children, a rock climbing wall and a variety of food booths.
Electric Boat Parade
If you are determined to reserve your spot to watch the fireworks show early, you may be surprised to see an Electric Boat Parade floating through the east and west channels of the Harbor. At 4:30 p.m., more than 50 patriotic themed electric boats will cruise around the Harbor in the 4rd Annual 4th of July Electric Boat Parade. The parade is sponsored by Central Coast Electric Boats and the Channel Islands Yacht Club.
