Harbor Businesses Lend Support During Federal Government Shutdown

A local yacht broker and marina are stepping up and collecting donations in an effort to support staff members of the United States Coast Guard Station – Channel Islands Harbor, who have been affected by the Federal government shutdown.

Seacoast Yachts of Channel Islands and Vintage Marina Partners are seeking and accepting donations from those who would like to participate. Items needed include food items, grocery and gas cards, and baby supplies. According to Seacoast Yachts, three Coast Guard staff members’ families recently have had newborn children.

“As yacht brokers and boaters, we take comfort in knowing that the USCG is always there to render assistance to us in time of need when on the water. Now that it is the USCG men, women and families that need assistance during this government shutdown, it is our responsibility to reciprocate and do everything we can to provide assistance to them,” said Bob Nahm, Director of Sales & Broker of Record at Seacoast Yachts. “All the members of the boating community are joining Seacoast Yachts, Vintage Partners and Janet Lawson in doing whatever we can to help them through this very difficult time.”
