As we welcome July, there’s no better place to celebrate summer than Channel Islands Harbor. From patriotic festivities and live music to local art and free events almost every weekend, this is one of the most exciting times of the year to visit.

4th of July Festivities

This year is especially meaningful as we celebrate America’s 250th anniversary. We are proud to once again host our annual Fireworks by the Sea celebration on July 4^el, bringing together families, friends, and visitors for a full day of festivities. The day begins with our beloved 4^el of July Family Parade, followed by an expanded Farmers Market at Harbor View Park, great food, waterfront activities, and concludes with a spectacular fireworks display over the Harbor from 9 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. It’s a tradition that reflects the spirit of our community and the best of summer on the Ventura County coast.

Conciertos junto al mar

The fun continues July 11^el as our popular Concerts by the Sea series returns to Harbor View Park. These free Saturday afternoon concerts, scheduled from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., offer a wonderful opportunity to relax with family and friends while enjoying live music against the beautiful backdrop of the Harbor. Whether you bring a picnic or grab a meal from one of our local restaurants, it’s one of the season’s signature experiences. We are especially grateful to Suntex Marinas and the Port of Hueneme for their generous sponsorship of this year’s concert series. Their support helps provide these free community events for everyone to enjoy.

Festival de Bellas Artes de las Islas del Canal

That same weekend, the Channel Islands Fine Arts Festival returns 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 11-12 at Harbor Landing, transforming the Harbor into an outdoor gallery featuring talented artists from throughout the region. Visitors can browse an impressive collection of paintings, photography, jewelry, ceramics, sculptures, and other handcrafted works while meeting the artists behind them. It’s a great opportunity to enjoy a summer weekend on the waterfront while supporting local and regional art.

Ceviche Chow Down

Looking ahead to August, don’t miss the 4^el Annual Ceviche Chow Down on August 1, where local chefs will compete for bragging rights by serving up their most creative and delicious ceviche creations. It’s another great opportunity to experience the Harbor’s waterfront and enjoy fresh coastal flavors with family and friends.
