The Ventura County Harbor Department takes great pride in providing quality enrichment activities for youth through the Jr. Lifeguard Program.

The successful track record of this program is made possible by our seasonal lifeguard staff.

Similar to last year, hiring of seasonal lifeguards, particularly senior lifeguards, has been a challenge due to the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Until the appropriate amount of qualified lifeguards can be recruited and hired, the Harbor Department cannot commit to offering the Jr. Lifeguard Program at this time.

If and when the Harbor Department does have enough staff to run the program, we will provide updates on our social media platforms and website.
