.Synopsis for the southern California coast and Santa Barbara
Channel including the Channel Islands National Marine Sanctuary
and National Park...at 03Z or 8 PM PDT, a 1024 mb surface high was
450 NM W of Seattle, while a 1009 mb low was 120 NM S of Las Vegas.
Hurricane Rachel was 800 NM SSW of Los Angeles currently moving
towards the west-northwest and expected to make a turn and move to
the northeast toward NW Mexico. Southerly swells will affect the
coastal waters through at least early next week.
