2021 Labor Day Events and Activities at the Channel Islands Harbor

Labor Day weekend is coming fast and the Channel Islands Harbor is the perfect place to spend your time.

It’s time to start booking spots for water activities, planning on where you are going to sit at the final Concerts by the Sea show, and figuring out where you want to enjoy some good food.

Whether you are getting out of town or staying close to home, here are some fun things to do with your family at the Harbor:

Explore the Harbor on the Water

If you and your loved ones are adventurers, you don’t want to visit the Harbor without getting out onto the water. Between the Channel Islands Kayak Center, Hopper Boat Rentals and Southern California Jet Skis & Electric Boats, there are a wide range of personal water craft – electric boats, paddle boats, kayaks, paddle boards, jet skis – to suit a variety of budgets and tastes. The Harbor offers pristine views and clear water. Getting out on the water is a must that you and your family will remember for a lifetime.

Go Parasailing!

There’s no better way to create a memory than hovering 800ft (or 1,000ft) above the Pacific Ocean with Channel Islands Parasail. Guests launch right from the boat and into the clear blue skies, capturing views of the Ventura County coastline that cannot be gotten any other way!

Concerts by the Sea – Operation 90s

We couldn’t be more excited to have Operation 90s close out our free Concerts by the Sea summer series. Operation 90s is an instant nostalgia party. The band’s mission is to re-live good times (at least for a couple of hours).

Operation 90s is set to perform from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 4th at Peninsula Park, 3401 Peninsula Road at the Harbor, next to the Hampton Inn. Free parking is available at the park and along the street.

Don’t forget to bring your picnics, blankets and lawn chairs and enjoy this fun family event!

2021 Fairy Tales in the Park – Hook vs. Pan: How it all Began

Bring your favorite beach chair or blanket, snacks, sunscreen and children and head down to Harbor View Park on September 5, 2021 to enjoy Fairy Tales in the Park. Harbor View Park is located at 3600 Harbor Blvd. just south of Marine Emporium Landing. Curtain time is 2 p.m. and the show is designed to run approximately 45 minutes, which coincides with the attention span of the target age group, 3-10 year-olds.

Gypsies in a Trunk, an all-volunteer group of actors, performs Fairy Tales in the Park throughout Ventura County for the young and young-at-heart.

On September 5, the performance presented will be Hook vs. Pan: How it all Began.

Ever wonder HOW Captain Hook became his villainous self? Or how he met Peter Pan? Or Tinkerbell? Travel back in time to Neverland and see how it all began!

Captain Carrington and Mr. Smee are looking for fairy dust and nothing will stop them on their quest for fame & glory! Looks like it’s up to Peter and his friends to stop this pestering pirate!

Come join us in Neverland!

Sunday Farmers’ Market

Enjoy waterside shopping at the Farmer’s Market. Every Sunday, rain or shine, the Farmer’s Market is open from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at 3600 S. Harbor Blvd., adjacent to Marine Emporium Landing Shopping Center, Channel Islands Harbor.

Each week, you’ll find more than 30 farmers selling fresh-picked fruits, vegetables and flowers. There is also an assortment of baked goods, garden-related supplies as well as arts and crafts vendors offering their work for sale. Live music and entertainment make your shopping experience that much better. Come and enjoy an exciting afternoon of food and family fun in a safe and relaxed environment.

Harbor Dining

The Channel Islands Harbor includes more than a dozen places for you and your family to eat. There’s a wide range of places to dine, so check out our restaurants page here. The Channel Islands Farmers’ Market also includes a variety of dining options too.

Go Sportfishing

Sportfishing is one of the most classic Harbor activities for a reason. When else do you get to stand side-by-side with your family and catch up on life while you enjoy the great outdoors? There are two well established sportfishing companies in the Harbor that can get you out fishing.

Channel Islands Sportfishing offers a variety of trips available including local half-day trips, ¾ day island trips and overnight outer island trips.

Hook’s Landing’s sportfishing offers half-day trips, ¾ trips, and overnight trips as well.
